Following some 44 years as an engineer in the construction industry involved with major highways, airfields, sea defence and associated infrastructure I retired in January 2014 and moved from Oxfordshire with my wife Christine to our intended forever home in Brent Knoll.
We are both delighted with our choice enjoying the peace and quiet of a village life.
I joined the Parish Council in June 2015 as a way of becoming more involved in the community.
My hobbies include gardening, walking, reading, music and genealogy, and, with my wife, I share a particular love of wildlife and the countryside. We are both members of the Somerset Wildlife Trust and the National Trust.
As an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Concrete Technology I still have links to their Council and committees, and I remain a trustee of my last employer's pension scheme.
