I was born in Burton Latimer, Northants and attended local schools
before transferring to Kettering Grammar School in 1949. In
1956 I served as a medical orderly in the R.A.F. for two years
National Service.In 1958 I went to Redland College, Bristol
to train as a teacher, and apart from three years in High Wycombe
have lived and worked in the west country ever since. I was
head teacher of a village primary school near Weston super Mare
for six years and then became Head Teacher of Puriton Primary
School, Bridgwater where I stayed for 22 years before retiring.
I have three Children and three stepchildren. I moved to Brent
Knoll on Marrying Judy in 1987. To date we have thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
local cricket for fifty years, wrote a book on my experiences
and played badminton and hockey for thirty years. I am a passionate
devotee of classical music. I wrote a book on Mozart and as result have given five annual power point presentations on composers andI continue to play the
piano. I enjoy writing , travel, gardening family
and local history I also speak Spanish. I have some knowledge
of German and French.
I have served as a Councillor for thirteen years and was the instigator in setting up the village website and
the new village information board.
